Lord of All

I recently attended a wedding in which the couple truly wanted to make the message of Christ come through loud and clear. The ceremony was beautiful and was a wonderful message of God’s desire to enter into a union with us, His church. Since the beginning of mankind, God instituted marriage to be a representation and reminder of the ultimate marriage of Himself to His bride. In our fallen and sinful state we have tainted that image and made it something it was never intended be. But through the redeeming work of Christ at work in us, we are able to offer the world a better portrait of what marriage is meant to be. However, that is another message and not the reason I am writing today. There is one truth that really hit me heavy during the ceremony that I would like to explore in deeper detail. One of the hymns sung during the ceremony was “All Hail the Power of Jesus Name“. One of the lines of that hymn is “…and crown Him Lord of all”.

Lessons from Nature: Waves

I am in Bali Indonesia for discipleship training and I am staying across from the beach. I like to sit on the beach and have quiet time with Jesus. I just started my second weeks of lectures. The topic this week is about hearing the voice of God. This is an exciting topic for me and I look forward to what each day will bring. After hearing the message this morning I decided to go down to the beach and just be silent before God and see if He had anything to tell me. As I watched each wave roll on to the shore I started to think of similarities between the waves and how God works in our lives. These lessons are always exciting to me and I want to share them with others who also may benefit from them.

A Moment of Beauty

One morning I witnessed something beautiful; God painted the sky with His glory. These moments only last for a few minutes, by the time I took a couple pictures, the color had faded. It got me thinking. God is always moving and His glory is shining wherever He is. If we aren’t positioned to see it or feel it, we could very easily miss an opportunity to see God move. There is no better position to see God than in His presence and at His feet. We all must surrender ourselves to Him and bow down to worship Him in all His glory. Start your day seeking God and spending time in His presence and I am sure you will see Him move. God bless you!

The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
